Hens Maintenance Worker

Wilcox Farms is currently seeking exceptional candidates for a Hens Maintenance Worker position at our Roy, WA facility. The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the equipment in our chicken houses. This includes feed augers, minor electrical work, water lines, exhaust fans, and other equipment. This position is also responsible for basic facilities maintenance for the chicken houses.
Responsibilities
Repair of feed/water leaks
Repair of A-frames as needed
Egg room maintenance (doors, bathrooms, heaters, and other equipment as needed)
Fixing cages (fronts, bottoms, doors)
Replacing light fixtures as needed
Generator testing
Compressor check/air-line repair
Insulation repair/replacement
Basic carpentry repairs (floor boards, cross braces, trap doors, garage doors)
Follow and adhere to safety and GMP practices.
Effectively communicate tasks, directives and policies with management and supervised workers.
Complete assigned tasks in a safe, best practices manner.
Qualifications
Experience in processing and manufacturing equipment a must.
2-3 years' experience with equipment and facilities maintenance (compressors, augers, basic electrical)
Prior experience in an agricultural or similar setting is preferred
Reading and writing skills (English preferred)
Math skills
Must have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
Experience with agriculture, farm equipment is preferred.
Skills
Comfortable working in a dusty environment
Very comfortable working around and handling chickens
Must be able to follow directions as well as procedures
Possesses good communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Must take initiative and be self-motivated
Takes care and has pride about product, its quality, and its appearance
Thinks and plans ahead
Physical Requirements
Able to pass pre-employment drug test and physical
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Continuous pushing, pulling and standing
Slight exposure to fumes, odors and gases
Occasional noisy environment (some hearing protection required)
Constant use of eye/hand coordination
